What to Read Before Accepting a Bonus
A bonus offer’s headline percentage tells you almost nothing about whether it’s actually worth taking. The number that matters is hidden in the terms: the wagering requirement, the time limit, and which games count toward clearing it.
Wagering Requirement: The Number That Actually Matters
The wagering requirement (often written as a multiplier, like x40) is how much total betting turnover you need to generate before the bonus becomes withdrawable. A x40 requirement on a 1,000 TL bonus means you need to place a cumulative 40,000 TL in bets before that bonus converts to real, withdrawable money.
The detail most people miss: does the multiplier apply to the bonus amount alone, or to your deposit plus the bonus combined? The second version doubles the effective wagering requirement at the same stated multiplier. Read this line before accepting anything.
Time Limits
Bonuses come with a clearing window — commonly seven days. The clock starts the moment you accept the bonus, not when you start playing it. Whatever wagering hasn’t been completed when the window closes is forfeited, along with any winnings generated from it.
Game Contribution Rates
Not every game counts equally toward your wagering requirement. Slots typically contribute 100%, while table games (roulette, blackjack) often contribute a much smaller percentage — sometimes as little as 10-25%. If you’re trying to clear a bonus by playing table games exclusively, expect it to take far longer than the headline numbers suggest.
Types of Bonuses You’ll See
- Welcome bonus. Highest percentage, usually the heaviest wagering requirement — calculate the real cost before accepting.
- Cashback/loss rebate. Some versions are wagering-free (withdrawable immediately), others carry their own wagering requirement — this single detail determines when the money is actually yours.
- Free spins. Winnings from free spins are usually subject to a separate wagering requirement — “free” doesn’t mean the requirement disappears.
Three Questions Before You Accept
What does the wagering multiplier apply to — bonus only, or deposit plus bonus? How long do you realistically have to clear it given how often you play? What percentage do your preferred games contribute? If you can’t answer all three from the terms in front of you, read further before accepting — or consider declining the bonus and playing with your deposit alone.
Currency: Bonuses Are Calculated in Turkish Lira
Bonus amounts, minimum deposits, and wagering thresholds are stated in TL, not in your home currency. If you’re funding your account from a foreign card or an international e-wallet, the amount that actually lands after conversion can differ from what you expect, since your card issuer applies its own exchange rate and, often, a foreign-transaction fee on top. This matters directly for wagering math: if a conversion fee eats into your deposit, the bonus percentage is still calculated on the TL amount that actually posted to your account, not on what you originally sent. Checking the converted, post-fee amount before you calculate your wagering target avoids a mismatch later.
Crypto deposits sidestep the card-conversion step entirely, which is one reason they’re popular with users funding from outside Turkey — but the bonus math still resolves in TL once the deposit is credited, so the same wagering-requirement logic applies regardless of how you funded the account.
